Hasan Behcet Pasha
(Brigadier General of Cavalry)

He was born in Sheki in the second half of the nineteenth century. He was the younger brother of  Emin Bey. They were (most likely) of the Dargalilar family. As Emin Bey gained an important position at Sultan Abdulhamid’s court in the late nineteenth century, he gradually brought his father Haci Abdurrahim, his only brother and his sisters from Sheki to Istanbul. Since Hasan Pasha always wanted to be a soldier, he enrolled with the Ottoman Military Academy (Harbiye) in Istanbul and graduated as a Cavalry officer. Over his military career he served at different parts of the Ottoman Empire and once was stationed in Baghdad as a cavalry commander.
